American Tax & CPA Services is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer with a strong background in retirement income taxation, investment reporting, and comprehensive tax liability determination. You will work directly with our premier client roster to collect financial data, calculate accurate tax liabilities, and optimize deductions while providing warm, expert-level communication.

Core Responsibilities

• Tax Preparation & Filings: Review complex financial documents and accurately prepare federal, state, and local tax returns (focusing on 1040s, Schedule Cs, and retirement accounts).
• 1099 Specialization: Expertly process and analyze Form 1099-R (pensions, annuities, IRAs) and 1099-INT (interest income) statements to maximize client savings and maintain strict IRS compliance.
• Liability & Benefit Optimization: Precisely calculate tax liabilities, deductions, credits, and estimated payments to protect client assets.
• Client Engagement: Communicate clearly with clients to clarify financial records, resolve discrepancies, and provide strategic explanations on tax-saving opportunities.
• Timely Execution: Ensure accurate, flawless electronic filing (or mail preparation) within strict regulatory deadlines.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 10+ years of hands-on, professional tax preparation experience.
• Credentials: Active Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required; active Series 65 (Licensed Investment Adviser Representative) license strongly preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Deep operational knowledge of Form 1099-R, 1099-INT, capital gains, investment returns, and retirement taxation strategies.
• Compliance Mindset: Strong expertise in federal and state tax regulations with an unblemished accuracy record.
• Communication: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of translating complex financial data into straightforward advice for local clients.
